BIP (Bit Interleaved Parity)
In SDH and SONET networks, an error control mechanism compris-
ing parity bytes associated with each frame. BIP is included in Line Overhead (LOH) and Section Overhead (SOH). See also LOH, parity, SDH, SOH, and SONET.
