slurry [`slǝr·ē] MATERIALS 1. A semiliquid refractory material, such as clay, used to repair furnace refractories. 2. A free-flowing, pumpable suspension of fine solid material in liquid. 3. An emulsion of a sulfonated soluble oil in water used to cool and lubricate metal during cutting operations. 4.
