hull [hǝl] BOTANY The outer, usually hard, covering of a fruit or seed. FOOD ENGINEERING 1. To remove husks from fruits and seeds, as from ears of corn, nuts, or peas. 2. To remove the shell of a crustacean or mollusk, as an oyster. NAVAL ARCHITECTURE The body or shell of a ship. ORDNANCE 1. The outer casing of a rocket, guided missile, or the like. 2.
