计算地理学，有时也称数量地理学或计量地理学，它的方法又称地计算，广义的地计算包括各种地学有关的计算，曾称数理地理学，其在中国早年代表人物金祖孟，相关用于描写地球形态，几何位置，行星风带等；狭义的地计算往往指与地图有关的地理数据的挖掘和计算，不包括遥感图像处理和数值计算。但广义的计算地理学是地计算及其可计算地理模型的统称，遥感图像的数据处理也包含在其中。计量地理学特指数理统计方法在地理学数据分析中形成的特色学科。
