以认识生命、尊重生命价值为核心目标，围绕帮助学生认识自我、理解生命、热爱生活的内容而设置的教育。有广义与狭义两种。狭义上，指对生命本身的关注，包括个人与他人的生命，进而扩展到一切自然生命。广义上，是一种全人的教育概念，不但包括对生命的关注，而且包括对生存能力的培养和生命价值的提升。
