应变理论
弹性力学的应变理论从几何学的角度研究物体的变形。首先给出物体在三维空间的位移和应变的描述，并推导两者的关系，建立几何方程和连续方程。进而在坐标变换的基础上深入地研究一点应变张量的性质和一点应变状态的理论。由于应变理论不涉及材料的物理性质以及外力作用和平衡等因素，属于独立的几何学研究，所以其结果也适用于其他连续介质。
