以阴道大量出血或持续淋漓不止为主要症状的病证。起病急、大量出血者为崩；起病缓慢，出血量少、淋漓不净者为漏。二者在发病过程中常可相互转化，故统称崩漏。崩漏有广义和狭义之分，广义泛指一切不规则子宫出血，包括月经病、妊娠病、产后病及肿瘤等引起的不规则子宫出血；狭义仅属于月经病的范畴。
