Mahavira大雄
（约前599～前527）印度耆那教的实际创始人、第二十四代祖师，是与佛陀（Gautama Buddha）同时代的“六师”之一。原名筏驮摩那（Vardhamāna，意译“增胜”），在佛典中又称尼乾陀·若提子（Nigaṇṭha Nataputta，意译“离系亲子”，即摆脱束缚者），成道后被耆那教徒尊称为“大雄”（意译“伟大的英雄”）。又译作呢揭烂陀·慎若低子、尼乾陀·阇提弗多罗、尼犍陀·若提子、尼焉若提子、尼犍亲子，或单作尼乾子、离系亲子，简称尼乾、尼犍。
