在表面活性剂胶束存在下，不溶或难溶的有机物溶解度增大的作用。表面活性剂溶液在浓度达到临界胶束浓度（CMC）以上时，体相内部会形成胶束等聚集结构。这些聚集结构的表面由表面活性剂的亲水头基组成，内部则是亲油基团形成的疏水环境。一些难溶于水的物质会进入这些疏水环境，因此在水中的溶解度会增加。
