一个共同特征的异相反应，凝聚态物质（通常是固体粉体）（A）本身挥发压力不足，但在气相反应剂（B）的存在下，B与A封闭在同一管子中，加热时B与A反应，生成气相的AB，当AB迁移至不同温度或压力的管子的另一处时，AB分解，A再以晶体的形式沉积，达到物质的提纯或改变物理状态（或二者兼有）的反应。
