在作物群体结构及其环境因素处于最适宜状态时，由光能所决定的作物产量潜力。即，假设作物叶片周围二氧化碳浓度正常，温度条件适宜，水分供应充足，土壤养料充分，具有足够的叶面积承接95%以上的投射阳光，使太阳辐射被作物充分利用，则光能的一部分将转化为物化能而贮存在光合产物之中，其最终构成的含15%以下水分的干物质量。也可看作是最大的可能总生产量。又称光合潜力、光能潜力。
