有两层含义。一种是直播意义上的转播权，指体育组织或赛事主办方举办体育比赛或表演时，许可电台、电视台、网站等媒体进行现场直播、转播、录像等，提供给公众观看，并从中获得收益的权利。另外一种是字面意义上的转播权，指媒体机构在获得赛事主办方的授权后享有的许可其他媒体转播体育赛事节目信号，并由此获得收益的权利。
