一种以公共交通为导向的城市发展模式。是以地铁、轻轨等轨道交通或大容量快速公交站点为中心，通常以400～800米（5～10分钟的步行路程）为半径进行集商业、办公、居住、生活等功能为一体的高密度混合开发，城市居民通过乘坐公共交通或自行车、步行等慢行交通方式就可方便地满足日常需要。
