以水果或果汁为原料，经发酵、蒸馏、储存、调配而成的酒精度为38％～44％（体积分数）的蒸馏酒。白兰地是英文brandy的音译。由于葡萄白兰地的优异品质以及其在世界范围内的产业发展，现在所说的白兰地已特指葡萄白兰地。而使用其他水果制成的，多在名称前冠以制造用水果名，如樱桃白兰地、杏子白兰地、枣子白兰地等，消费量均不大。
