调整证券市场的参与者在证券的发行、交易、服务、监督管理过程中所发生的社会经济关系的法律规范的总称。证券法的概念有狭义和广义之分。狭义的证券法是指一国制定的调整证券关系的专门法律。从广义上讲，凡是调整证券关系的法律规范都属于证券法范畴。它不仅包括专门的证券法内容，也包括其他法律部门中关于证券的约定。
