一种内成性的类吗啡生物化学合成物激素。是阿片样肽的其中一类。下丘脑、垂体前叶和中间部均有内啡肽的分泌，胃肠道也有内啡肽的存在，具有很强的镇痛作用，其能与吗啡受体结合，产生跟吗啡、鸦片剂一样的止痛和欣快感，等同天然的镇痛剂。
