基体组织包含两种不同铁基固溶体的钢的统称。由于高合金含量的、具有奥氏体和铁素体（或马氏体）组织的钢称为双相不锈钢，而具有奥氏体和铁素体（含部分贝氏体或马氏体）组织的低中碳钢称为相变诱发塑性钢（Trip钢），故通常所说的双相钢是由低碳钢或低合金高强度钢经临界区处理或控轧控冷所得到的一类新型冲压用钢，又称DP钢。
